FREE Meadow Grass Identification Sheet
Learn to spot some of the most common meadow grasses that you may see whilst out and about on walks. Take the sheet with you or download to your phone and search for the grasses to add a twist to your time outside.
We have taken samples home and created a 'grass display and labelled the grasses and search out for ones we've still to find!
This sheet features a range of grasses but doesn't include them all. There is also a range of grasses more common in woodlands and riverbanks as well as grasses more often found on waste ground and roadsides. If you live in flood plain areas (like us) there are even more varieties! If you find grasses not on the sheet, maybe you can use the internet or apps to see if you can find your grass - we'd love to hear what you find! The sheet only includes meadow grasses and not sedges and reeds (you may spot these too!)
However, this meadow grass guide is an easy introduction to some of the meadow grasses - we hope you manage to spot some. Our favourite is Timothy (purely for the name!) For colour and texture, Yorkshire Fog is a big hit! Love to know which you find and favour!
We hope you enjoy this free sheet. Please do tag us in any social media showing you using the sheet or your catkin finds - we love to see them!
